Five years ago, without any fanfare, this blog went live. I expected it to be read by my small circle of friends. It now gets over 5000 pageviews monthly from countries all over the world. Over 51,000 pageviews in total. And that warms me to the bottom of my tiny shrivelled black heart.
That being said, I think this is a good time to put this baby to bed. It's become less fun, more chore these days, and I'd rather go out on a high note than let it just fade away through neglect.
So... adieu, auf weidersehen, adios, farewell. Happy trails.
Be good to each other.

Milk and cookies
Momofuku is a chain of innovative restaurants in New York City. This cookbook reveals the recipes behind their famous cakes, cookies, pies and other desserts available from their bakery. Definitely a little off the beaten path (cereal milk ice cream, that tastes like the milk left over at the bottom of your breakfast bowl) but still delicious. A book that's definitely worth taking a look at.

The Daly Show
No, not the one with Jon Stewart. The Daly Show is an online comedy series featuring father-and-son actors Tim Daly (Wings, The Sopranos, Superman The Animated Series) and Sam Daly (Gray's Anatomy, The Office) as themselves... sort of. Very funny meta. The whole series (there are seven episodes so far) starts here.

Fan fic for the show that never was
Somewhere, in an alternate universe, a television show called Shadow Unit, a police procedural with fantasy elements (a la X-Files) was broadcast. And then fan fiction was written.
This is a great reading/writing project, featuring 'episodes' written by acclaimed authors Emma Bull (she invented urban fantasy with her novel War For The Oaks in 1988), her husband Will Shetterly, Elizabeth Bear, and Sarah Monette.
